What We're Doing Right Now:
Park Habitat is working over the summer to plan for next year. We will be sponsoring the 10th Park House as well as the 2nd Friends-Park Sponsored House. There will also be a year-long, community-wide celebration of A Dozen in a Decade.

2009 Homeowners

2122 Jefferson St. (9th Park House):

Roxie Myers and Jonathan Brown are married and have three daughters: Destiny (age 1), Dimond (age 5) and Daniele (age 14). Roxie and Jonathan are currently living with Jonathan's mother in a small two bedroom apartment. All 5 of them share one room. They have spent quite a bit of time moving from house to house - living with Roxie's sister just prior to moving in with Jonathan's mother. These two are so excited to finally have a new place with enough space for them to have their own room and for the kids to have their own rooms. Roxie's Aunt and Uncle are Habitat homeowners and referred them to the program.

2124 Jefferson St. (1st Friends-Park House):

Monyetta Johnson (age 32) has worked at Home Depot for the past 5 years. She will move into 2124 Jefferson Street with her two sons (ages 3 and 12) and her daughter (age 10). They currently live in a two bedroom apartment where all three kids share a bedroom. She is looking forward to her more spacious three bedroom that will have more space for her kids. She is also looking forward to an affordable mortgage in lieu of her rental payment which is both expensive and increases with frequency.
