The first time I worked with Habitat for Humanity was in sixth grade when I brought cookies to a worksite and gave them to the volunteers. I
really admired those volunteers who dedicated their Saturdays or Sundays to building with Habitat, however I was too young to build. When I entered
Park in the ninth grade, I immediately joined Park Habitat. Since I was still too young to build, Habi-painters, which is open to anyone involved
with the project, grabbed my interest and I became involved mostly in that. I really enjoyed that I was able to do something similar to building.
In tenth grade when I became a leader, I discovered that there was much more to Park Habitat than building. Since then, my involvement has extended
to grant writing and outreach, along with many other aspects as well.
