Jonathan Hettleman
My name is Jonathan Hettleman and I have been going to Park since Kindergarten.
Throughout Lower School I was exposed to Habitat in numerous ways including, Halloween
boxes, and the Annual Run. In addition to these things, I saw Habitat bulletin boards,
display cases, and I saw assemblies on the program. I was constantly reminded of my
school’s partnership with Chesapeake Habitat for Humanity, and their commitment to
building and sponsoring “10 Houses in 10 Years.”
I never thought I would get involved in Habitat. I just didn’t think it was for me.
When I got to high school though, I tried it and loved it. I realized that the
experiences Habitat offered me were things that I couldn’t find anywhere else. This
remains true. The things that I have learned as a Habitat leader will remain with me
for the rest of my life. Habitat has undoubtedly given me more than I could ever
contribute to the project. And for that, I will forever be indebted to the program.
