Chesapeake Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity Int'l

Max Sellman

I first got involved with Habitat in my freshman year. When I was accepted into Park, they sent me a list of all of the extracurricular activities. Habitat really jumped out as something cool, something that was unlike all of the other activities in school. Service is part of my life; I’ve done volunteer work from an early age. I felt that I needed to keep contributing my time, so I joined. The rest of the year really taught me what the program was about; how much we could help. I wanted to be a leader so I could have a more increased role in our projects. I wanted to help more people and spend more than an hour a week doing it. I’m very interested in the fundraising because it’s the most critical piece of our year to year goals. I also want to move forward with BSB, because bringing Habitat into more schools will make a bigger difference in the city.
